Skylanders Swap Force Looks Best on Xbox

Skylanders Swap Force Looks Best on Xbox.

Skylanders Swap Force has recently been announced. It offers novel interchangeable figures and a host of new characters. But for Xbox owners perhaps the most interesting aspect of this new game is that the 360 version is set to look much better than the Wii.

Whereas the same developer (Toys for Bob) was previously responsible for all console versions, this time around Vicarious Visions take the helm for 360/PS3 and Wii U while the Wii is left to Beenox.

This means that the Xbox version is already visibly delivering a higher definition experience. As you can see in this Swap Force game-play footage

The game also provides an impressive 56 new figures. 16 new Core Skylanders, 16 Swap Force, 16 returning characters and 8 Lightcore toys that illuminate on the portal. Graphically and story-wise this is a more ambitious project than the previous outings for Skylanders.

However, there is a snag. This year’s game no longer supports your original Portal from Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure or Skylanders Giants. The result of this is that you will need a new Swap Force Starter Pack.

This pack includes the game itself, the new portal, one Series 3 figure and two Swap Force characters.
Skylanders Swap Force also faces strong competition in the form of Disney Infinity.

Activision will need to match Disney Interactive with both graphics and game-play.
Time will tell which of these will be the toy-meets-videogame title of choice for 360 owners.

there will be an outcry from consumers on this and activision will need to be careful how they deal with this.

in my opinion parents already are sceptical around video games as you know and this will be a knife with which they can twist into our industry. the amount of cash they have invested in the two games so far just for activision to tell them ‘sorry they don’t work on this but hey ho there are more to collect that look the same.

nice balanced opinion though cheers for the heads up

well, my son got Giants for his birthday, completed it with the 3 included characters within a week or 2. Now he keeps bitching to get other figures which I am refusing. Perhaps if it made for a different game, but it’s the same old game with a couple different abilities. Certainly won’t be wasting more money on this ESPECIALLY as none of this new stuff with work on the old portals
