WWE 13 Story:  7 /10

The game gives the players a chance to relive the Attitude Era which is by far the best time to be a wrestling fan! The likes of Stone Cold, The Rock, Mankind, HHH, Shaun Michaels & The Undertaker…..in their prime. The story starts in 1997 and roughly closes around 2000. It covers all the main rivalries that took place in that time frame from the Undertaker vs. Kane to the Birth of 3:16 and Stone Cold’s on-going feud with Owner Vince McMahon. It also has WWE Universe V2 which allows you to take control of any wrestler (sorry sports entertainer) and take part in matches over the yearly setting. You can either create your own superstar as well with IMO limited creative options, which leads to Creation mode – this lets you create a superstar, story, entrance, video, title and stable. You can have heaps of fun with it.

Control feel:  8 /10

The control is the same as WWE 12, the reverse system could use a little work as it feels too easy to reverse but also you would be sitting there smashing the button and nothing happens. It has all the same features that WWE 12 had i.e. the Hot tag during tag team matches and the weapon moves. Whilst it is a little easier to control is still feels a little clunky and unresponsive.

WWE 13 (43)

Graphics:  9 /10

The graphics are spot on and life like to the real superstars and the character creation as well this allows you to change the colour of the superstars threads so if you’re bored of the Undertaker always in black you  can change it to pink! Which allows the game to have a bit of fun as well? One issue I have when playing, I was brought up in the Attitude era which had actual hardcore matches and proper hell in the cell matches when playing the game you can turn blood on or off, when turned on once their head modifier is red the slightest knock and they are bleeding i.e. I always use CM Punk and his finisher is the GTS which means he throws his opponent in the air and they headbutt his KNEE………awesome I know! But as soon as this is done BANG they are busted so playing every match and doing your finisher the opponent is likely to always be bleeding.

Sound:  6 /10

I gave this a 6 only due to the Attitude and all their theme music which was awesome like having Rage against the machine for DX etc. but the commentary was set like in the attitude era with JR and King but when playing it does not flow with the match. You could of done a move and then 30 secs later they catch up.

WWE 13

Gameplay:  7 /10

Difficulty rating: Single player = 7    Multiplayer = 7

The single player is a hoot but playing online is something else, IMO THQ have bad servers when it comes to Sports games but I may be wrong as I haven’t played many other THQ sports games but all the WWE titles have been really poor in the online fight LAG Mainly.

Conclusion:

I think for the old school lover of wrestling they can relive the old days and enjoy current in the same title, I still think there are a few things they need to fix but this is always an on-going battle in games.
